This post follows on from Books Read in 2006, which I posted at the end of June.
And for 2007 I read one hundred books, exactly the same number of titles as in 2006. A lot of authors read for the first time, but only a couple stand out for me as ‘new discoveries’ – Sarah Langan, who has become a must read, and Vicki Hendricks regarding who I’m mystified as to why I haven’t read anything else by her as yet; it’s an oversight that needs correcting. Aside from work by those two, my book of the year was probably “Fangland” by John Marks.
On this day in 2007 I was reading “The Intruders” by Michael Marshall, my thoughts on which you can find here. And on the occasion of my 53rd birthday I was finishing off “Black Magic Woman” by Justin Gustainis (review here).
Three titles the authors of which have eluded both my memory and my google skills, all of them very short, which to me suggests poetry, art books, or indie press flying way under the radar. They are “Transformation” at 83 pages, “The Green Man” at 48 pages (memory is telling me this was YA, and written by a woman who also illustrated the story), and “The Quartet” at 117 pages. No prizes to anyone who can help with identification.
