But unfortunately I don’t have much time at the moment.
Places to go, people to see and promises to keep.
I was reading on John Scalzi’s blog the other day about how, when he first started writing it, he’d take a break for the month of August, and it seemed like a splendid idea to me.
So, see you all again in September, or not as the case may be.
No, Pete, come back!!
Although . . . the sun is shining, all’s well with the world – yay, let’s all go on holiday!! π
Holiday!!! Oh, if only…
Tomorrow I shall probably be helping a man get hot and sweaty with a power tool.
That almost certainly gives the wrong impression, but let it stand.
Ah… at least you haven’t left us bereft of imaginative fodder. π
I’m going to let you have the last word, because I am a gentleman.
No, seriously, I AM!
So, last word? What’s it going to be then? (It better be a good one.)
Shhhhhh!!! π
The last word is zymurgy. In my dictionary, at least.
Enjoy the break…!
Sigh! I said Ali had the last word. Now she’ll have to come back and give us another one, and before you know it we’ll have the online remix of “War and Peace”.
Goodness. Please don’t leave us, Pete. September is so far away and we’ll miss your humour.
Fret not, Mistress Cate. September will be here before you even know it.
And besides, it’s taken you a week to notice that I’ve been gone, though I’ll overlook that as I see from your blog that you have other things preoccupying you π
Congratulations, and I’m sure The Imaginary Girlfriend would also send good wishes, if she knew who you were π
Yes, I have been rather preoccupied π
I keep checking Trumpetville daily despite having been warned I’d find nothing, and I must say the lack of entries have made for a rather humourless August for this keen reader. Still, there’s are some witty comments. Always feels a bit like snooping, though (in a good way – I’m a nosy so-and-so).
Cate, hijacking Pete’s blog comments to say congrats because the lengthy hilarious good wishes I’ve tried posting on yours have failed to appear three times now. So congrats and best wishes!
I’m sorry Ray. Interestingly, since going silent I’ve picked up two new followers and jumped a couple of hundred thousand places on Alexa’s rankings. I don’t know whether to be pleased or worried about that.
I reckon your comments on Cate’s blog got stuck in moderation, and she hasn’t dealt with them yet because she’s off gallivanting and being in love and all.
Thanks, Ray. No comments hiding in moderation so I suspect blogger is being an ass.
I find blogger very hit and miss. Some I can comment on with no problem, such as Cate’s, while for others are a bit more of a problem or totally impossible unless you already have a blogger account. I’d imagine it’s down to whatever settings the blog owner has.
I shall now pause to wonder if there are loads of people wanting to comment on here but finding they can’t because I am a technological illiterate who doesn’t know his settings from his sit ins.
